After attending a middle school that encouraged accelerated learning, Ren finished high school early and was admitted to Brandeis University at age 16 on a Humanities Scholarship.

There he studied Philosophy and Economics, fixating on symbolic logic systems, Tanakh, and Spinoza’s Ethics. But after a job opportunity in New York and really missing spicy food, Ren transferred to New York University to complete his studies.
