After finishing high school early, Ren was accepted to Brandeis University at age 16 on a merit scholarship, where he began studying philosophy and economics with the intention of pursuing law. He later realized business was a better fit and transferred to NYU, balancing a full-time workload with his studies.

Ren and Cole met by chance in New York and soon co-founded the New York Philosophical Society, dedicated to reviving public dialogue around philosophy.

Ren loves working with students, and he considers philosophy and education the chief joys of his life.
